I’m Steven Bonda, CMP, the Meetings and Conventions Sales Manager here at VISIT FLORIDA. When people ask me what I do and I need to give my “elevator speech", my response is that I market Florida and its impressive inventory of products and services to the global meetings, conventions and incentive industry. The way I do this is “simply” by creating a wide variety of opportunities for Florida suppliers and meeting professionals to network with each other (e.g. Florida sections at major tradeshows, in-market networking events, booth share opportunities, etc, etc). I also oversee several ongoing projects that assist meeting professionals, like our unique supplemental hurricane insurance: Cover-Your-Event (CYE)
One of the many projects that keeps me busy year-round is Florida Encounter, a VISIT FLORIDA signature event. Florida Encounter is an award-winning appointment trade show showcasing ALL of Florida in one place. Almost all of Florida’s key meeting organizations will be available to book appointments with you via our online system! This year, the event will be held November 15 – 19 at the newly transformed Sawgrass Golf Resort and Spa in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. There are several shows with a similar format, but be sure to attend the “Original”. We have been in existence for 28 years, one of the longest running tradeshows in the industry!
