Hyatt Grand Cypress Renovation Nears Completion
Orlando's Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress is getting ready to unveil the results of a $65-million renovation in December 2009, a year-long project began last fall. Once completed, Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress will unveil the rebirth of all 750 guest rooms and suites, the lobby area and ballroom space. Careful attention was paid to every detail of the renovation, with an eye on green.

"This is a very exciting time for us and it seems like the meetings market is coming back." said Vice President and Managing Director for the hotel, Paul Tang. "We will be proud to showcase our new look to groups in 2010 and ensure that meeting attendees are as happy with their guest room as they are with the hotel's traditionally high standard of service."

Style, comfort, technology and respect for the environment will meet in the new guest rooms. Artwork-filled corridors lead attendees to contemporary guest rooms with textures of Italian mosaic tile, brushed metal and Chinese marble. Three-D resin art work, an upholstered sleeper sofa or chaise, revamped lighting and a Hyatt Grand Bed with Egyptian cotton sheets make for a soothing respite, while work space features a flat screen TV with presentation DVD access, wireless internet and a laptop stand.

The renovation took guest rooms down to the bare bones. Already a designated member of the Florida Green Lodging program, the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress

further improved upon their commitment to protecting the environment by installing energy-conserving ceiling fans, in-room recycling systems and water-conserving showers. Fixtures and furnishings from the re-do were recycled.

Sleek decor with a Zen-like ambience, new lobby landscaping, escalators and art work, and a redesign of the 24,960-square-foot Grand Cypress Ballroom are part of the plan. Meeting space totals 65,000 square feet including a 16,768-square-foot exhibit hall, 29 meeting rooms and seven board rooms. Outdoor events can be held around the half-acre pool, within the resort gardens and on the beach of Lake Windsong.

Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress is home to an assortment of group recreation and teambuilding options including 45 holes of Jack Nicklaus Signature-designed golf courses, a racquet club, a Hyatt StayFit fitness center and a beach with watersports on 21-acre Lake Windsong.

In addition to award-winning on-site food and beverage venues, the Grand Cypress offers groups the Personal Preference Dining Program, where attendees can choose from a selection of four fine-dining menus when attending awards ceremonies or other types of banquets, a refreshing alternative to the typical split-plate menu.

Great group savings are currently being offered at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress, where groups can receive a 10-percent discount to the master bill.www.hyattreply.com/grandcypress Contact Gary Gotling, director of sales and marketing for more information.
