Hyatt Regency Pier 66 - A Fort Lauderdale Landmark Since 1957, the Hyatt Regency Pier Sixty-Six has been an icon on the Fort Lauderdale skyline. Pier 66's evolution began when it was originally purchased by Phillips Petroleum with the vision of building a fueling station for watercraft.
A luxury marina and yacht club were soon developed, and a 100-room motel was later added. By 1965, a 17-story tower overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway was completed; it was hailed as an architectural and engineering masterpiece. The "timeless crown" at the top of the tower became one of the most famous cocktail lounges in South Florida, offering 360-degree views of Fort Lauderdale as the floor circulated once every 66 minutes.
Today, fresh from a $30 million renovation and a new member of the LXR Luxury Resorts & Hotels collection, the Hyatt's new look gives a nod to its original era with a luxurious retro-modern design.
Imagine a group event in the 3,000-square-foot Pier Top, a dinner cruise from the on-site marina or a water taxi ride to trendy Las Olas Boulevard for a dine-around or other off-site event.
Located in the heart of Fort Lauderdale, minutes from Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood Airport and within walking distance of the Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center, the Hyatt offers 25,000 square feet of meeting space, including the newly refurbished Crystal Ballroom. Outdoor event areas including the lanai courtyard, anchored by a three-pool waterfall oasis, and two additional outdoor decks provide waterfront event settings. An upscale, designer look and feel is reflected in the resort's 384 guest rooms and suites, which have garden or marina views from spacious balconies or patios.
With the full-service Spa 66, a 127-slip marina, fine and casual dining, entertainment options and a multitude of recreation and teambuilding options nearby, the Hyatt Regency Pier Sixty-Six stands ready to host memorable group functions. And after a transformation that respects and pays homage to its colorful history, it once again shines in the Fort Lauderdale skyline.
