Central Florida is a unique juxtaposition of man-made attractions and natural wonders. At its heart, giant animatronics-filled theme parks abut quiet expanses of genuine wilderness preserves, while two very different stretches of coast flank either side of this region.

In the center of it all, remnants of Florida's citrus and cattle history decorate the region in the form of rolling prairies, acres of citrus groves and tiny towns that time forgot. Larger-than-life theme parks take center stage, while eco-based activities such as airboating, bass fishing and water skiing wait in the wings for intrepid explorers.

On the west coast, quiet stretches of white-sand beaches and crystal-clear springs, friendly small towns and bustling metropolises offer a range of excitement, from swimming with manatees to salsa dancing and jet skiing across waves to cycling paved urban trails. You can meet real Greek sponge divers or see the work of Cuban cigar rollers; view Old Masters paintings or watch the ballet; dine in world-class restaurants or shop in specialty boutiques.

Central east Florida is another scene altogether, with clay-colored Atlantic beaches that beckon surfers and deep-sea fishermen, an international speedway that draws thousands of race fans each year, and an air and space attraction that will take you out of this world. Hidden lagoons bursting with flora and fauna, vibrant art communities and championship golf courses that host the pros round out the region’s offerings.
